This is not a conventional portfolio update, because it has turned into a project and is therefore something more. I am not the first to do an exercise of this style, and so in this sense, I am not discovering anything new. 

My career as a professional photographer dates back to the beginning of 2008. Since then, my work has focused mainly on still photography of film shoots. However, this work within cinema has coexisted with other photographic series, projects and photographs throughout these 18 years. Perhaps now, I have reached a photographic maturity which merits a thorough review.

This new portfolio has taken on, by itself, the format of an archive. Not all the images I have captured over the years are included. They are arranged in such a way that you can follow a reverse chronological order that perhaps allows you to understand and maybe appreciate what the path has been so far and even imagine where it may lead in the future. However, the latter is always difficult to predict with accuracy because in life, magic and surprise are living elements that play an important role.

The world of cinema has a specific formal language that, by default, has been transmitted to other works that I have done outside of cinema.At the same time, the fact that I have worked on photographic series far from the audiovisual medium has made me see films in a different way, trying to provide new images that break with the usual standards demanded - sometimes with more or less success.

Gathering the strength to immerse yourself in the tunnel of time takes a while, along with a calmness, in order to make the corresponding decisions. The folders included serve to understand what came before and after. It is important to remember that the emotional and personal moment, as well as the photographic knowledge of each period, give the photographs a reason and a meaning. Beyond the visual value they may have, I like to highlight the progress or non-progress over the years - there are ups and downs, natural and human, and it is good to show them. This archive is about that: about trying to give meaning to a body of work.
